Subsequent to the Delegates’ Assembly, Stefan Mäder (59) has taken over the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of la Mobilière from Urs Berger (72). Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch (61) and Roland Egli (59) have been newly elected to the Cooperative’s Board of Directors.

Stefan Mäder has been a member of the Board of Directors of la Mobilière Holding Ltd. and the Investment and Risk Committee since 2017. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Mobilière Cooperative since 2013. Thanks to his many years of active engagement on these committees, Stefan, who hails from Zurich, is fully acquainted with the strategy, business model and corporate culture of la Mobilière (see media release of 30 March 2022).

As announced, Urs Berger has retired from the Board of Directors. He took over as CEO of la Mobilière in 2003 and following a comprehensive restructuring put the company back on a sustainable growth path that la Mobilière has continued to pursue until this day. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2011 and consistently further developed its personnel and specialist skills. “On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Delegates’ Assembly, I would like to thank Urs Berger for laying the right foundations at an early stage for a successful future for la Mobilière and handing over to us a company in top condition,” says Stefan Mäder. “Urs Berger has made an outstanding contribution to la Mobilière. He has been its face, heart and spirit and a key role model for employees and customers.”

At its inaugural meeting today following the Delegates’ Assembly, the Cooperative’s Board of Directors decided to appoint Urs Berger as Honorary Chairman of la Mobilière as an expression of thanks, sincere gratitude and respect for his work.

The Delegates’ Assembly has elected Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch and Roland Egli as new members of the Board of Directors of Mobilière Cooperative.

Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch studied law at the University of Berne and has held a range of key functions in her long-standing career with the Swiss Confederation, including as chief negotiator of Switzerland in the WTO negotiations. The 61-year-old was State Secretary and Director of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) between 2011 and 2022. She holds various directorships, including at food company Nestlé.

Roland Egli studied auditing and fiduciary management at the University of St. Gallen. The 59-year-old started his career teaching at the vocational business school in Lachen. He then worked as an auditor at Union Bank of Switzerland in Zurich and a consultant at Seestatt Consulting AG in Altendorf. From 2000 until 2022, he was a successful general agent at la Mobilière’s Lachen SZ General Agency. Roland Egli also managed the Association of General Agencies of la Mobilière (GAV) for three years during this period.

As well as Urs Berger and former CEO Markus Hongler (see media release of 28 March 2023), Dora Andres has also retired from the Board of Directors of Mobilière Cooperative. The 66-year-old former Cantonal Councillor from Berne has been a member of the Board of Directors of Mobilière Cooperative since 2008 and has chaired the Positioning Committee since 2015. “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank Dora Andres and Markus Hongler for their long-standing major commitment to la Mobilière,” says Stefan Mäder.

The Board of Directors of Mobilière Cooperative currently consists of 26 members made up of 14 women and 12 men. It ensures that la Mobilière upholds its cooperative ethos and makes core strategic decisions concerning the Cooperative’s public profile.
