La Mobilière is celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2026. True to its motto “Better together”, the company is bringing people together and making its social commitment tangible all over Switzerland – including at the Locarno Film Festival.
The “Rotonda by la Mobiliare” is a central meeting point where festival guests can mingle with the locals and enjoy the music, art and cuisine on offer. Artists including Enrico Ruggeri, Ditonellapiaga and 77 Bombay Street as well as Eurovision participant Veronica Fusaro will take to the stage.
On 2 August, before the festival starts, families from Ticino will be invited to the Prefestival presented by la Mobiliare to watch films free of charge on the Piazza Grande and join in activities at the Rotonda.
There is particular emphasis this year on engaging with young people. A youth jury will for the first time select the winner of the Locarno Kids Award la Mobiliare and present the award for a youth film at the end of the festival. This will give the young generation an active voice at the festival and a say in shaping film culture. Moreover, young people will address the themes of art, research and sustainability at the Atelier du Futur programme.
“We facilitate encounters and exchange between generations, regions and perspectives at the festival. We are thereby contributing to cohesion in Switzerland – very much in keeping with our anniversary motto “Better together”, says Marta Kwiatkowski, Head of Societal Engagement at la Mobilière.
La Mobilière has been a main partner of the Locarno Film Festival since 2017 and is committed to its further development over the long term. It has a particular interest in promoting the advancement of young generations and strengthening society’s readiness for the future through film and culture.
