La Mobilière lowers its stake in SMG to below 20%
vendredi, 19 septembre 2025In the wake of today’s IPO of SMG Swiss Marketplace Group Holding AG (SMG), la Mobilière has cut its equity interest to 19.3% but remains a major shareholder in Switzerland’s leading digital marketplace.
SMG was founded in November 2021 as a joint venture between la Mobilière, TX Group, Ringier and General Atlantic, with la Mobilière and its partner Ringier contributing the Scout24 Schweiz Group. By pooling forces to form one of Switzerland’s largest digital companies, the founders were able to build and develop a competitive marketplace offering. With SMG’s IPO on the SIX Swiss Exchange, la Mobilière has lowered its stake from 29.3% to 19.3%. La Mobilière has great faith in the online marketplace’s business model and firmly believes that it will continue to create value. La Mobilière will remain a significant shareholder and maintain representation through one seat on the Board of Directors.
“I’ve been delighted by SMG’s growth and development and would like to congratulate the whole team for its tremendous job over the past few years,” said Michèle Rodoni, CEO of la Mobilière. “As Switzerland’s most personal insurer, our core business is to strike the right balance over the long term for our customers between our local, entrepreneurially run general agencies and our digital offerings. SMG, a Swiss-based solution for Switzerland, will remain a key partner for us.”
